This product is amazing. Really sad to read the other review because our experience with it was the complete opposite. We got it for my 5 year old son. We dug up our own ants because the mail in ones took too long (when they finally arrived they were all dead but two). They started digging up tunnels right away and were pretty fast at it too. We ended up with the ant farm on top of our dinning table because it was just so interesting and fun to be watching it, seeing how the tunnels changed so fast. It was a toy we all enjoyed. We finally had to get rid of it because the ants dug up sort of a grave yard were they took their dead, it was a hard tunnel to reach so some kind of fungus started growing. So right now I'm looking to buy our second ant farm. If they sold the gel separately we could just change it. Excellent buy!!
